Nigeria’s men’s basketball team, known as D’Tigers, have dropped six places in the new rankings released by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

The rankings were released on November 28, 2017, after Window 1 of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Qualifiers.
D’Tigers were ranked in 32nd position, dropping six places from their previous ranking of 26th, with 211.4 points.
Despite the slump, the D'Tigers maintain their place as the highest ranked team in Africa.

Africa's Representation

Angola maintained their 2nd place in Africa. They were ranked 33rd in the world with 202.6 points, just one spot below Nigeria.
Senegal follows closely in 36th position in the world ranking with 178.2 points, making them the third best-ranked team in Africa.

The Top Four Remains Unchanged

Elsewhere, the top four of USASpainSerbia and France maintain their positions from the last rankings. Only Lithuania breaks into the top 5, displacing Argentina with a points haul of 618.1 points to the latter’s 617.0.
The highest climbers are Kosovo, who moved up 10 places to 86th in the rankings. Nigeria takes the undesirable distinction of dropping farthest from 26th to 32nd.
